12 Favorite Ryan Reynolds Movies to Watch During the Vacations | News
Ryan Reynolds is known for many things. Being Blake Lively’s husband, an actor, and also a college dropout.
A former student at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), Reynolds wrote a blog post for his old school, published on Wednesday, December 21st.
“Normally, we wouldn’t share an exclusive holiday movie list from a former KKPU student on these pages, but we’ll make an exception for someone who knows a lot about them — storyteller, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner Ryan Reynolds,” KPU wrote.
“Even if he left KPU before completing his studies, we are still impressed because he showed that every experience is a learning experience.”
In the post, Reynolds shares his favorite movies to watch during the holiday season. All of the films feature Reynolds himself or have a unique relationship to him in some way.
No shade of shameless self-promotion. We are here for that. According to Reynolds, you should be watching these movies in order before Christmas:
Ryan Reynolds’ Dirty Christmas Movies List
1. Buried (2010)
“Vacation is the time to relax around the fire, burrow in your favorite blankets, and connect with long-lost loved ones. This movie lets you experience that feeling… and a little bit more,” Reynolds writes.
2. RIPD (2013)
If “Jeff Bridges rides you like a horse while you both fall off a sky-scraper” as he says, the one-liner isn’t on your Christmas wish list, you need to rewrite what you currently have. But don’t actually watch it because it’s almost unwatchable.”
3. My Spirit (2022)
“Two words: Good afternoon. Well, that’s four words now. We’ll be nineteen by the time this is over.”
4. Just Friends (2005)
“Nothing says Christmas quite like New Jersey. Or the horror, depending on how you look at your high school sweetheart coming back into your life a few years later…and you swear you don’t want to skip the toothpaste scene.”
5- Free Guy (2021)
Men in bunny suits. Taika Waititi as the bad guy. And a man. Most importantly, it contains Fantasy by Mariah Carey. Which qualifies as a Christmas movie by association.”
6. Self / Less (2015)
“Ben Kingsley is paying for a new body. Unfortunately he got me. It’s a really complicated White Elephant token, but a fun watch!”
7. Change (2011)
“I just realized Self/Less is exactly the same plot as The Change-Up. And this guy made this list, so I guess this list should be.”
8. Deadpool 2 (2018)
“It’s a family movie at its core, isn’t that what the season is really about? Happy vacation from the merry guy in the red suit. Ho ho ho.”
9. The Adam Project (2022)
“My favorite that kept me warm and fuzzy all year long. It gives me holiday vibes with love and family. But Mark Ruffalo’s punches were the real gift.”
10- The Amityville Horror (2005)
“I know, I know. Most of you think this is a Thanksgiving movie. But with all the ghosts, to me this is just screaming Christmas.”
11. The Mississippi Grind (2015)
Unlike the other films on this list, this isn’t a Christmas movie at all but Ben Mendelsohn’s is just pure brilliance, suitable for any time of the year.
12- Planes, Trains and Cars (1987)
“With all due respect to Empress Carrie, this is the official start of the festive season.”
