5. Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)

This movie is everything you’d expect and more of an 80s slasher with a ho, ho, holiday twist. The film stars Robert Brian Wilson, Lillian Chauvin, Gilmer McCormick, Tony Nero, Linnea Quigley, and Brett Leach. The film follows a young boy named Billy who witnesses the murder of his parents at the hands of Santa Claus. After his grandfather warns him that Santa punishes those naughty people, Billy decides to take matters into his own hands.

Public controversy arose over the issue of censorship. There are two versions of the film, an unrated version and an “R”-rated version with the MPAA eventually giving it an “R” rating after making multiple cuts. However, this movie turned into a franchise pretty quickly as it developed a cult following and spawned four sequels and as a remake in 2012. There are also talks of an upcoming reboot being planned as well.

4. Jack Frost (1998)

No, that’s not a typo! The lovable snowman in the movie we all know from childhood has an even more frightening iteration that came out in the late ’90s. This cult classic stars Michelle Keaton (dubsec(and Kelly Preston as the parents of a precocious boy named Charlie, played by Joseph Cross)Licorice pizza). When Keaton’s character dies in a car accident, he reincarnates as a snowman in his family’s front yard. While this movie is a fantasy family comedy, there’s no shame in grumbling about the cartoon-like snow creature that takes up the screen for the majority of the movie.

3. Krampus (2015)

The film stars Adam Scott.intensity), Toni Collette (the stairs)David Kushner (Bless this mess), Allison Tolman (Gaslit) and Conchata Ferrell, Stefania LaVey-Owen, and Imjay Anthony, who portrays Max. The film is based on the folklore character of the same name, and takes place three days before Christmas. Due to his family’s incessant arguments, Max loses his Christmas spirit which awakens Krampus, a creature that punishes naughty children. This causes the family to reunite in order to defeat the Krampus.

Gideon Emery provides the voice of Krampus alongside Seth Green as Gingerbread Man Lumpy, Breehn Burns as Gingerbread Man Dumpy, and Justin Roiland (Solar opposites) Like Columbi’s Gingerbread Man.

2. The Lodge (2020)

Newer version in this listing, boudoir It is a psychological horror film starring Riley Keough (Satan all the time), Jaden Martell (Mr. Harrigan’s Phone), Leah McHugh (eternal), Alicia Silverstone (American Horror Stories) and Richard Armitage. The plot follows the role of Grace’s soon-to-be stepmother by Keogh. Grace was the sole survivor of a mass suicide led by her father, the cult leader. When Grace, her fiancé, and his children go to stay at a country inn over Christmas, unexplainable events relating seemingly to her past begin to unfold.

1. A violent night (2022)

A more recent release on this list, another Christmas slasher movie has entered this category. The film stars David Harbor.Weird things), John Leguizamo (food menu), Eddie Patterson (Good gems) and Cam Gigandet, Leah Brady, and Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation). Violent Night is set during the nights before Christmas Day. Harbor embodies a version of Santa Claus who has to fight off mercenaries who have taken a wealthy family hostage in their home.
