Armie Hammer indicted summons Elizabeth Chambers to support her former recovery

A woman who has accused Armie Hammer of sexual assault is now speaking out against the actor’s estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, after an interview in which Chambers said she supports her husband’s efforts to prioritize his recovery.

Talking to E! News, Chambers confirmed that she has moved into a “committed relationship” with health therapist Ricardas Kazenic, although her divorce from Hammer is not yet finalised. However, she confirmed that she and the “Social Network” representative are “in a great place” and “talking all the time” as they learn how parents can share their children.

“The children need their mother,” Chambers said. “So there is nothing we are not going to do.” She went on to note that Hammer was “focused on his recovery” and that she was “here to support the process.”

On Wednesday, however, Hammer’s accuser – identified only as Effie – shared a series of screenshots to her “House of Effie” Instagram account that appear to show messages Chambers sent to encourage her to come forward with the Hammer assault allegations.

One of the messages reads: “He’s really mentally ill.” “And he’s never been with the kids all day. Ever.”

In a separate letter, Chambers allegedly told Evie she needed a Hummer to “leave” the Cayman Islands, where the actor’s family had moved as allegations against him continued to mount.

“I forced him to come here by order of the court to try to be a father, and now he is a danger to them,” the letter read. “He needs to go. I spent a few days with them, but then got drunk/ecstatic/violent.”

According to People, Evie concluded her Instagram Stories series – many of which are here – with a note: “Just a few things to consider before anyone else wishes for a rapist’s recovery.”

In an emailed statement to HuffPost, a representative for Chambers dismissed the suggestion that Chambers had urged Evie to come forward.

“Given the scale and nature of the allegations made, Elizabeth sought to determine the veracity of these allegations. She was extremely sensitive to all parties involved,” the statement read. “The safety and well-being of her children remains her priority.”

Hammer’s career took a hit last year when “House of Effie” posted screenshots of messages apparently sent from the actor’s account that included references to violent sexual acts and cannibalism.

Although Hammer denied the allegations, the ensuing controversy prompted him to withdraw from a number of high-profile projects, such as Jennifer Lopez’s comedy “Shotgun Wedding” and the Broadway production of “The Minutes.”

About two months after the letters were posted, Evie came forward at a press conference organized by former attorney Gloria Allred. Hammer was accused of raping her in 2017, and said the two had been in a relationship for four years that ended sometime in 2020.

Shortly thereafter, Hammer checked himself into a treatment facility to address issues related to drugs, alcohol, and sex. He held a low profile for most of 2022, and in July he was reportedly seen working at a hotel resort in the Cayman Islands.

The accusations against Hammer by Evie and other women are examined in depth in the Discovery + documentary series, “House of Hammer,” which came out last month.
