ITV Saturday kicks off here with the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes for two-year-old fillies over 6ft. THE ZOO brings a high level of form to this event and provided it doesn’t come too soon after a race at Newmarket, she should be tough to beat for Ralph Beckett and Frankie Dettori. The Zoostar daughter won twice before chasing Mawj in the Duchess of Cambridge, a Group 2 at Newmarket. She was a little unlucky there and has to be the one to beat although there are a number of lightly raced fillies here open to a lot of improvement.

ITV is also in York on Saturday for this 5f handicap where riders are ridden by jump jockeys. It’s wide open. INTERNATIONALDREAM is out of shape but well handicapped and I will risk it every which way under the excellent James Bowen. My hope dropped to 76 after flopping on this track last time, but was running from 94 in June of last year. It’s a chance to bounce back at decent odds.

Now Group 3 Valiant Stakes over 1m. NOVEMBA could be difficult to move forward for Peter Schiergen and Rene Piechulek. The raider ran a cracker when third behind Real World and The Revenant at Longchamp last season and while she may have preferred more juice, she ran a perfectly respectable fourth behind Saffron Beach in a Group 2 at Royal Ascot. It’s easier and could get a fairly easy lead.

A handicap greater than 6f. ABERAMA GOLD had two good runs in big fields here in May off 88 and 87 and although rated 90 still has claims each way. My hope goes to Keith Dalgleish and Billy Garrity and he deserves a win after consistent effort. The terrain and the journey are ideal, we just need a little luck.

A precious handicap on 7f. Watch your bets here as Jumbly runs in the 2.25 and Jumby is probably the favorite here. ROPE GUEST is up 1 pound after two fine seconds in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and Bunbury Cup at Newmarket. You have to feel George Margarson as he keeps knocking on the door, but Callum Hutchinson is back and taking off 5 lbs which will help. He again has demands back and forth.

Group 2 York Stakes over a stretch of 1m2f. Easy to take HONOR OF DUBAI here on Claymore. I’m stunned as I write Dubai Honor are no favorites and they were a strong handicap winner at Newmarket last season before finishing second in a Group 1 at Ascot. He didn’t run well in Dubai in March and has since been gone, but I expect a big run under Stevie Donohoe for William Haggas. It’s a good race.

Big of the day in Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes on 1m4f. Westover is the one to beat without a doubt. On paper BROOMEa massive underdog, has it all, and it’s fair to say he has a mixed record at Ascot which includes a last place finish in the Group 1 Long Distance Cup (slowly) and a tame fourth of five (slowly) behind Adayar during last year’s renewal.

However, when he didn’t miss the start, Broome was second in ten behind Wonderful Tonight at Hardwicke last year and an impressive all round winner at that event in June.

Aidan O’Brien’s raider has class form elsewhere, including a second behind Yibir in the Breeders’ Cup Turf in Del Mar and a fourth behind Anthony Van Dyck in the 2019 Derby when he was sent off just 4 -1.

Broome likes fast pitches, and if he gets away with it and gets sent straight up front, it could be tough to get under Ryan Moore. I will risk a surprise.

So good luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. Can you hear me Paddy?
