‘The Little Mermaid is Black’: Splash star Daryl Hannah shows her support for Halle Bailey

Just days after the first trailer for The Little Mermaid made waves of racist trolls out of the woodwork, star Halle Bailey finds support from another big-screen mermaid: Daryl Hannah.

Hannah, 61, played mermaid Madison in the 1983 movie Splash, alongside Tom Hanks, and showed her support for 22-year-old Billy on Twitter.

Hannah’s praise comes after Jodi Benson – the voice actress who portrayed the original Ariel in the classic cartoon – also showed her support.
