Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 3, 2022: Model Says Start Rashod Pittman, Sit Ezekiel Elliott

Fantasy football injuries are inevitable and successful owners throughout the season must adapt quickly when there is a need to adjust their fantasy football ratings. Cardinals running back James Conner is dealing with an ankle injury that could keep him out of the week three game against the Rams and could leave a gaping hole in many fantasy football lineups in week three. Should you turn to his backups, Daryl Williams and Eno Benjamin, or look for other engaging fantasy football matches? George Keitel could be back in action this week, but Dalton Schultz (his leg) could be wasting time, so Everett remains highly valued in the TE Fantasy Football Week 3 rankings. Before you keep your lineups, be sure to check out SportsLine’s installed PC Football Week 3 Fantasy rankings. It can help you make those tough decisions about which players to start and which players to leave on the bench.

When it comes to player rankings, the SportsLine model has overtaken the human experts in Fantasy football over the past several seasons especially when there were huge differences in rankings. Over the course of the season, that could be the difference between winning your league or going home empty-handed.

Last week, the model was so high on the Packers running back Aaron Jones, saying he would finish in the top 10 in his position. The result: Jones lunged 15 times for 132 yards and a touchdown, while hitting all three of his goals for 38 yards and an extra point in Green Bay’s win over the Bears. Anyone who included him in the squad was on their way to a massive week.

Now, the model, which simulates each NFL game 10,000 times, has revealed the fantasy football rankings for Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season. Head over to SportsLine now to see them.

Fantasy Football Week 3’s Top Picks

One player the model was high this week: Rachod Bateman, the Ravens wide receiver. The first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft accounted for 46 passes for 515 yards and touchdowns in the junior season, but after Baltimore traded Marquis Brown to Arizona over the holiday period, he set the stage for Pittman for a bigger role in the Ravens offense.

While many may still view the Ravens as a first-running team having had nearly 300 more passes than pass attempts in 2019 and 2020, the Ravens threw the ball nearly 55 percent of the time in 2021 and threw it in 56 percent clip in 2022. Pittman has the second most goals (12) in the team behind tight end Mark Andrews in two weeks and has produced touchdown receptions at 55 and 75 yards. This ability to play big is part of the reason why the model likes Bateman as a Top 20 receiver for Week 3 against the Patriots.

And a massive shock: Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, who has run 1,000 flowing yards in three of his last four seasons, stumbles wildly and doesn’t even top the top 20 in his position. Elliott led the Cowboys with 53 yards flush in last week’s victory over the Bengals, but was less effective than Tony Pollard, who had 98 scrimmage yards and a TD on 13 touches.

Elliott has yet to find the end zone this season, and now he will face a New York Giants defense that has yet to allow a quick touchdown in 2022. Elliott averaged just 3.5 yards per carry against the Bengals and was no-factor in the Dallas passing game. With such a tough showdown this week, Elliott is a player considering putting him on the bench in Week Three.

How to set the Fantasy Football Week 3 rankings

The model also calls for an amazing quarterback that you wouldn’t even think of finishing in the top ten of the fantasy football week three rankings. That choice could be the difference between winning big and going home with nothing. You can only see who is here.

So who should you start and sit this week with? And which sudden quarterback could lead you to victory? Visit SportsLine now for Fantasy Week 3 football rankings for each position, as well as to see which QB will come out of nowhere to break into the top ten, all from the model that has outdone the top experts.
