Did Chapel Hart win America’s Got Talent and a million dollar prize? Here are the results.

They didn’t get the title and million-dollar prize for season 17 of American’s Got Talent, yet Chapel Heart won the fame and support of Southern Mississippi and millions of new fans this summer.

The title was won by the “Al-Mayass” group, a Lebanese dance.

Chapel Hart stepped out on the season finale Wednesday night and performed “Something to Talking About,” dressed in black and gold and singing the Bonnie Raitt classic with country star Darius Rucker.

“America, I say country music is in good hands,” Danica Hart declared at the end of the song, which put fans and judges on their feet.

Chapel Hart survived — sisters Danica Hart and Devin Hart and cousin Tria Swindle — as the eleven finalists were reduced to the top five.

But they did not reach the top four.

“Terry, this means everything to us,” Danica Hart told host Terry Crews.

“Talent like yours isn’t bleak, it just keeps on shining brighter,” judge Heidi Klum told the girls.

More than 1.5 billion votes have been cast this season on America’s Got Talent, according to AGT creator and judge Simon Cowell, and Tuesday night’s votes were the most voted.

Cowell said he thinks Chapel Hart was a huge hit with her original song “American Pride,” which they performed during Tuesday’s finals.

Singing with Rucker is something the Pearl River County trio from Poplarville only dreamed of two months ago when they first took the stage for an NBC show. Their original song “You Can Have Him, Jolene” – a hit by Dolly Parton “Jolene” 50 years ago – won a rare gold band from the judges, Parton’s blessing and world attention.

“What a new fun take my song!” Barton posted on social media.

Other celebrities continued to praise Chapel Hart as they continued to wow audiences with every performance on AGT.

With all the newfound fame, the members of the Chapel Hart remembered their roots in every interview and personal appearance. They told how they started singing together at Harts Chapel in Poplarville.

The “You Can Have Him Jolene” video on Pass Christian and the 2020 “Country Paradise” video were filmed in Red Creek in Stone County.

“There are young girls in Poplarville, Mississippi, who think it’s not possible, but we do,” Devin Hart said after her AGT test.

Their community cheered them on. Officials from Poplarville and Pearl River County have declared “Hart Chapel” Week to encourage them.

Tuesday viewing parties were held at Dobie Holden Stadium at Pearl River Community College during Tuesday’s AGT Show and in homes and bars across southern Mississippi.

Wednesday night, I watched southern Mississippi and waited to see if their hometown girls would win.
