Sequel ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Series Ordered On Amazon

Amazon has officially ordered the ‘Blade Runner’ sequel series, diverse Learn.

The live-action project, titled “Blade Runner 2099,” was first announced as being in development on the streaming device in February, while Ridley Scott first revealed that the show was in the pipeline in November 2021.

Exact plot details are preserved, but the title indicates that the show will take place fifty years after the events of “Blade Runner 2049,” the 2017 sequel to the original “Blade Runner.” Silka Luisa serves as show producer and executive producer, with Ridley Scott also executive producer under the Scott Free Productions banner.

Michael Green, co-writer of “Blade Runner 2049,” will also produce with Alcon Entertainment founders Andrew Kossoff and Broderick Johnson, Alcon Television President Ben Roberts, David W. Tom Spezialy has joined the writers’ room and will also serve as executive producer.
