I tried Primark clothes from Greggs and was very surprised by the reaction

HAVE I EVER nibbled on a delicious steak and thought, “I need this on a t-shirt”?

Fear not, because the new clothing range from Greggs at Primark is back – and coming to a store near you.

In a limited edition earlier this year, it proved so popular that there were lines around the block and in just three days the shelves were empty.

Ahead of the full launch on August 5, The Sun decided to see what the fuss was all about and introduce the eye-catching product to the masses.

We came out with the cropped white hoodie, black shorts, fanny pack and crocs, and the shorts and basketball jersey with sliders.

Parading the streets of London, the outfits were a surprising success. Punters couldn’t help but stop and stare at our outfit, some even excitedly pulling out their cameras.

The pairing between high street giant Primark and baking gurus Greggs features 21 pieces, including crocs and leggings.

The new collection’s list price starts at £8, with the Varsity Jacket proving the steepest at £25.

Other items in the range include bucket hats, coveralls and socks.

Our destination was the mega-store in Leicester Square, where the staff were bowled over by our outfits.

Stunned fans walked past one shouting “oh my god” and another simply “wow”.

Greggs store manager Katherine, 60, is counting the hours until she can grab some of the new range for her grandson.

She said: “I think it’s really good and people are going to buy it. I’ll be going to Primark on Friday to check it out when it launches.

“I think crocs are awesome and I love the basketball outfit for the younger kids.

“I like the top, the shorts are good. I would wear them and I’m an old woman. I think the fanny pack is a little weird.

“I like the crocs too. They’re great.”

Considering it was 21 degrees, the fleece-lined cropped hoodie was a bit too warm for the weather – but the sporty blue kit was perfect.

Karl Douglas loved merchandising, but had some criticism.

He said: “I think it looks great on you. Who wouldn’t want to wear it?

“I like slippers. They need pants, rather than shorts.

“The blue suit is great. I wouldn’t wear something like that though. I mean look at me and my belly.

“I’ll spend some £20 on it when I can.”

But Philip, 43, from north-west London, was not as impressed as the others.

He said: “I could have the blue kit for training when I go jumping or something.

“But I wouldn’t have the crocs. They don’t look as good as the normal crocs.

“I love Greggs sausage rolls so I might buy some of the range.”

Ollie, 25, and Helen, 22, from Surrey, were delighted with our gear and were both planning to buy some.

Helen said, “I love it. It’s awesome. I’m a big fan of sliders.”

Ollie added: “Love it. Will definitely buy some of the range. The fanny pack is a winner for me.”

Although no one we asked said they didn’t like our gear, there was one woman who looked less than impressed with our tasty outfits.

But maybe she was just more of a fan of McDonald’s!
