EastEnders releases first look at Patsy Kensit as Lola’s mum

EastEnders Unveiling the first look at Holby City Patsy Kensit in her new role.

As reported earlier this year, the veteran soap star will be arriving in Albert Square as long-lost mother Lola Pierce after learning her daughter has terminal cancer.

Emma left Lola and her father when her daughter was only 3 years old, so her sudden appearance at such a delicate moment is bound to cause fireworks for Lola and her family.

Producer Chris Clinshaw quipped, “We are thrilled to welcome the incredible talent Patsy V EastEnders family. She’s a perfect fit to take on the role of such a long-awaited character that we know so little about. Softly spoken and measured, on the one hand, Emma is the complete opposite of her long-lost daughter, Lola.

But on the other hand, there’s a striking similarity; successful, the ability to hold her own—if she says she’ll do something, she’ll do it—and she’s a fighter, just like Lola. Having spent her life apart, Emma becomes desperate to make up for lost time, But her secret sadness and guilt never far from the surface.

“The burden of losing her daughter never left her, but can she find the courage to tell her the awful truth and reconnect with Lola, or will it come little, too late? Filming Patsy shooting fireworks in Walford is bound to spell havoc for the Mitchell house.”

long time EastEnders Viewers will remember that Lola, like her co-star Jay Brown, was raised by Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) when her parents were dead or absent.

Kensit will be familiar to soap viewers from playing ward nurse Faye Morton Holby City So is the villainous Sadie King V Emmerdalealong with other high-profile roles in Lethal Weapon 2 And the Tina and Bobby.

Filming has already begun on Kensit’s short stint and she will be on screen in January.

EastEnders It broadcasts Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show is also streaming on BBC iPlayer.
