Comfort is one of the most important aspects of any gaming setup: the layout of your room; Whether on a desk or in your living room; TV or monitor placement; Your clothes. But nothing is more important than a decent place to sit. Seating can come in the form of sofas, beds, or dining table chairs, but if premium quality is what you’re after, you need look no further than the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022.
Over the years, Secretlab has quietly established itself as the gaming chair brand. However, as the years go by, and iteration after iteration passes, it can be difficult to continually evolve your game. If you’re already familiar with the Secretlab brand, what sets the 2022 edition above what came before? And what can a gaming chair really do that makes it worth its hefty price tag? We’ve been settling in on the Secretlabs Titan Evo 2022 for the past couple of weeks, and we’re here to show you why it might just be a buy.
What is Secretlab Titan Evo 2022?
The Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 is the Platinum Series of gaming chairs. They come in material and faux leather finishes, with a range of different color options, and in small, regular, and extra-large sizes. Each chair comes with a reclining back, adjustable base angle, height adjustment, and movable armrests. It also comes with a memory foam pillow – but more on that later.
If you were hoping for a more affordable price range with Secretlab’s latest lineup, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Here in the UK, the starting price is £364 ($449) for the base Mini version, and £434 ($569) for the XL edition. And these are just the base prices, as a choice of materials, colors and complements can push the price up to £914 ($1,099) – and that’s the selling price.
Undoubtedly, it is Much of money to sink into a chair, but you’ll know exactly where that money went once you sink into the chair. The Secretlab experience is highly customizable, aiming at every turn to remind you that it truly is best in class.

What’s in the box?
The Secretlab experience begins the moment it arrives at your door. Comes with a large chunky box, and is packaged with a large, high-quality instruction card, filled with pictures to assist with assembly. Inside you’ll find the back, base, and caster legs for your chair, along with padded armrest covers and a memory foam pillow.
The assembly process can be tricky at times, especially if you’re assembling yourself, but Secretlab has gone to great lengths to ensure the process is as hassle-free as possible. When all was said and done, we had our chair ready to go in about a half hour.
While it doesn’t hurt the chair itself, we did find the packaging filled with plastic, foam, and cardboard inserts. While it was a bit protective, we thought this was all a bit over the top, and hardly as environmentally friendly as a lot of the packaging that comes along these days.
Build quality and features
As you may have picked up from the beginning of this review, the Titan Evo 2022’s build quality is amazing. We received the faux leather type with red stitching finish and before you plant yourself in this thing you can see the quality. He really is a spectator.
These impressions only get better when you sit down for the first time, as the Titan Evo has a solid feel to it. With the aforementioned adjustments available across tilt angle, base angle, height, and armrests, you can quickly find the setting that works best for you, and feel one with the chair.
With paddles on the underside for height and angle, then a tilt handle on the side, everything is within easy reach, making it incredibly easy to switch up your seating position to suit your current activity, whether it’s for a relaxed gaming position, or for your more intense sessions.
We really liked the movability of the armrests, too. You can raise or lower it, adjust the angle to be straight or 45 degrees, and you can move it further forward or backward, left and right. Again, this is a hassle-free way to fit your existing seating position.
There are two big advantages that we totally experienced during our time with our chair. The first, which we haven’t really stopped at since the chair was first assembled, is the new memory foam cushion. In previous iterations of the chair, the cushion was present, but was attached to the chair via an elastic strap. This made it frustratingly common for a cushion to fall off the chair, which quickly got on our nerves. Here, however, Secretlab ditched the strap and opted for a magnetic base at the top of the chair. Aesthetically, this looks a lot sleeker than the tethered device, but in practical terms, it was one of the biggest improvements in the 2022 version. The pad still detached on odd occasions, but even repositioning it was relatively simple, and the pad was much more portable thanks to the magnetic base. .
The second newer feature is the lumbar adjustability. Previous models had a fixed lumbar flexor, and if you weren’t a fan there was a memory foam backing you could buy at the Secretlab shop – but that was another £50 on top of your already pricey chair. However, the 2022 version includes an adjustable lumbar support. With wheels on the side of the chair, you can increase the curvature of the base of the back, and where to place it, making the chair suitable for all types of heights and bodies.
On top of all this, the 2022 XL Edition feels more comfortable than the 2020 Edition we moved on from, but in all the right ways. Thanks to the slanted sides, the pillow hugs your back, which means you feel supported..
With all of these settings adjustable with the chair, you can imagine we found the 2022 Titan Evo incredibly comfortable. We’ve used this in gaming sessions, along with working at a desk, and the chair suited both scenarios well. We never find ourselves uncomfortable, or even really needing a change. Once you find the right settings for you, the chair in many ways feels molded to the shape of your body, meaning hours can go by without you ever feeling the need to stretch out.
The overall build quality means you don’t feel like you need to be particularly careful with the chair either. We’re not saying you have to bump into your body, but the Titan Evo 2022 feels more than equipped to handle anything you throw at it, reinforcing the idea that this is a solid and reliable chair.
Should you buy the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022?
Let’s move on to the brass rivets, then. The Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 is a great chair, and you’re not likely to regret putting money into it. This is thanks to its solid build quality and customization options. Not to mention, it goes a long way in securing a stylish look for your gaming setup.
Are there more comfortable chairs outside? surely! This will not necessarily be the case the A chair for everyone, and we still recommend taking a look around before you buy, but for the price and the features that come with it, you’ll have a hard time finding one of similar quality. Now, £350 – £600 (US$450 – $700) is quite a bit of money to spend on a chair, so it definitely falls into the ‘need’ over ‘need’ bracket. But for anyone who spends a lot of time gaming, or even just sitting at a desk for work, they would greatly benefit from a reliable, comfortable, and customizable gaming chair like the Titan Evo 2022.
