Via his social media on Tuesday — the day after the announcement — Jeff, 43, admitted he felt “embarrassed” to reveal his loneliness, and was proud of addressing the “difficult” breakdown of his marriage.

Meanwhile, Kate, 32, broke her silence over the split as she shared a heartbreaking poem about preparing for her first Christmas without her husband.

On Monday, Jeff told his followers that he feels lonely after his split from PR manager Kate earlier this year.

He moved into a new home with his sons Bobby, 19, and Freddie, 18, from his relationship with Jed Goody, who tragically lost her battle with cancer on March 22, 2009.

Overwhelmed with support, Jeff uploaded a video where he said, “I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for my message yesterday. Since I sent it, I felt a little embarrassed, as if I had made a fuss.

It’s funny how things we’ve been conditioned to feel throughout our lives really follow you around.

This has to change for me or I wouldn’t have put it out there. I am proud to share something that was difficult. I’m glad so many other people have kind of been able to identify with her.

Jeff said he posted this message simply to let his friends know he was there and to connect with him.

He added, ‘It was what I felt I needed to do and it was the right thing. It was a really brave thing.

“But I’m really glad I did, so I would encourage anyone else in a certain situation to do the same.”

While Jeff admitted he was feeling lonely, his estranged wife seemed to be going through the exact same feelings as she prepared to spend her first Christmas away since their split.

Kate shared a poem carried by Rochelle Humes. It read: “Someone you know is preparing for their first birthday without a husband, wife, mother, father, brother, sister, daughter or son.

Others are preparing their last. No matter what is specified, remember that this season of joy can sometimes also be a season of sadness for many.

be kind, be generous, give love, give help; If nothing else, just don’t give people a hard time.

I have so much to be grateful for and appreciate facing the lessons I need to grow, but this year has been tough to say the least.

My nine year relationship ended earlier this year and I have been working through that as well as supporting someone close to me who is going through something difficult.

The boys and I have recently moved home to a new area and spend most of the time alone as the boys obviously have their own thing.

It’s been constant change this year and I’m good at adapting but the mix of things has me down at times.

“ Honestly, I’ve never felt so lonely. Can we set Christmas back a few months?!

“I know time is a gift”: Jeff was very open and honest with his words

He said: ‘I have a lot of great friends and I know they’re a phone call away but sometimes I find it hard to admit I’m struggling.

I have to get back to the friendships that supported me, and survive 14 years of my focus elsewhere.

“I know there are many of us who find it easier to give rather than support, but there is a better balance between the two in 2023, we need it and we deserve it.”

In June 2020, Jeff said his marriage was stronger than ever after they hit a rocky patch before the pandemic and was seen without his wedding ring.

But Jeff said the couple got back into it as a result of spending more time together, saying they were able to ‘pause and reset’ their marriage.

However, the couple decided to call the time of their marriage earlier this year for good.

Fantastic Four: The couple was on lock-in with Jeff's 15-year-old sons Freddie and Bobby, 17, whose mother, Jade Goody, died when they were four and five.
