Jodi spoke about working with the star on his show Bradley Walsh: Laughing at Me: My Classic TV Moments:

“There was no line with him and it was just so funny… you can pick him up, he can take a joke but he’s also there for you if you need him.”

There were a few times he knew I was going to really struggle with my lines, so he’d do something like go and make himself a cup of tea.

‘So he was getting out of his way. So everyone would go “Oh we lost Brad! Where’s Brad?”

I didn’t know that, sneered amazed Mandip. I just thought he was an a**t!

He always used to bite his nails and was never on his phone. I just thought he was going to have another meeting about The Chase.

During the program, Bradley revealed that he has known Robbie Williams since he was eight years old through his entertainer father, Pete Conway.

Bradley explained how he worked with comedian and singer Pete, who was acting head of entertainment on one occasion – only to meet young Robbie who was destined to become one of the most popular singers in the UK.

In the clip, Bradley elaborates: “Pete was the host and matchmaker for the entire camp, he was like the head of entertainment…

‘Come to my house,’ he said – because back in the day you had stationary caravans everywhere and you could sit in them till you went to the performances.

“And he was sitting in the corner of his home, watching television, and his son was eight years old.”

Pete Conway continued: “Rob came down and stayed with me and Bradley walked in one day and I said, ‘This guy’s been pushing football for Brentford.'”

Bradley explained that he went to have a match with Robbie against the Fixed Caravan.

Pete added that at night, he and his little one, Robbie, drove to the spot on site to watch Bradley do cabaret.

“It’ll be at half past nine for three-quarters of an hour if I remember correctly,” said Pete. “It was…” amusing “did we say?”

A voice off camera asks if he can elaborate – but Pete says no because he’s laughing.

Years later, when he was breaking into television, Bradley discovered that little boy with a decent left foot had done just fine.

Bradley recalled when he was booked to appear on Cilla Black’s show with the upcoming group, Take That, he said, “Funny enough… Robbie said ‘You okay Brad?'” I went “yeah, yeah steal you okay?”

Robbie Bradley asked, “Don’t you remember me?”

“I know you’re obviously from Take That,” the TV star quipped. Then Robbie exclaimed, “I’m the son of Pete Conway!”

I said: you’re kidding! He said, “No, no, no.” Well, you could have blown me with a feather. So, I’ve known Rob since he was eight years old.

Bradley has had a long career in show business, with his recently popular game show The Chase quickly becoming a household classic.

Last year, the 62-year-old revealed that he was considering retirement, despite being named one of the ‘richest stars on TV’.

The Chase host, 61, admitted he struggles to keep up with his busy work schedule and regretted not having had any downtime.

He told The Sun: ‘You know what I’m not going to do in a couple of years, I’ll be retired and that’ll be it. ”

Bradley, who hosts The Chase and its spin-offs Celebrity Chase and Beat The Chasers, said he only taps shows 86 days out of the year.

However, he explained: “Out of 365 days, you’d imagine I had a lot of vacation. But once you’ve laid the groundwork for your offerings, that then allows you to go off and do other things.

“I don’t have actual time off, I have meetings, I have personal appearances to do and things like that with other things that I do, so it’s very hard to reconcile that.”
