It has also been previously reported that Helen and Hamza are on the way to striking six-figure presenting deals to keep them at the BBC.
The broadcaster is said to be willing to “splash money” in an attempt to prevent rival channels snapping up the pair, who have been “sponsored” by the BBC.

The source added that the duo is “highly valued” even though their careers are at “different stages”, with Helen being a well-known broadcaster while Hamza is relatively unknown “at this point”.

Speaking before the stern final, Helen said: “Everyone has confidence in different ways.
I was talking to Claudia [Winkleman] About it one day and not everyone can stroll down Main Street in high heels and a dress, but maybe you’re confident talking about politics or writing books or anything but yeah, you’ve found confidence.
“Gurkha is smart because he never made it sexy, it was about sass and power and control and that’s great for anyone when they feel in control of themselves and what they do.
I don’t think it’s about being sexy, I think it’s about being confident in your own skin and being yourself.
The thing Gorka kept saying to me at first that I didn’t get was ‘just own it’, I was like ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m here’ – I was like ‘what does that even mean?’ But now I understand.
“It’s been great to be happy in my skin, in my shoes, and doing whatever walks I do.”
