Speaking to presenter Ranveer Singh on The Lorraine Show on Wednesday, the Welsh contestant, 54, explained how it was her character as a loving grandmother and mother figure on the show that allowed her to remain under the radar.
Under the Radar: Traitors Star Amanda Lovett Reveals ‘We All Wear a Mask’ as She Details How She Managed Traitors for So Long
The show sees contestants chosen as the “traitors” by host Claudia Winklemann, before having to secretly “kill” fellow players without their knowledge every day and attempt to steal the prize money.
When asked how she managed to fool everyone into believing she was innocent most of the series, Amanda told how she wore a ‘mask’ to hide how she really felt in the process.
She said: We all wear a mask… We all have bad days.
“But you get up, put on your uniform, go to work and play the part.”
Conned: Speaking to presenter Ranveer Singh in Lorraine on Wednesday, the Welsh contestant, 54, told how it was her character as a loving grandmother and mother figure on the show that allowed her to stay under the radar
The TV personality went on to say that she has five children and five grandchildren and is “just a grandmother,” and revealed her day-to-day role as a caring mother-to-be on the show, as believers put their faith in her as a mother figure.
Amanda also told how as the days went by and the group got smaller, it became harder to kill them because by then they had formed close bonds.
“The smaller the group, the closer your relationships will be,” she explained.
Being a traitor, you play believer all day. They really believe in you, they connect with you, and they don’t want you to be that person who betrays and kills them.
Cunning: Tuesday night’s nail-biting episode saw Amanda betrayed in a major way by fellow traitor Wilfred Webster
At the start of the show, Amanda along with Wilf and Alyssa Chan were chosen as the traitors, as the group secretly plotted to “kill” their fellow contestants.
Speaking about how the mission began, Amanda said: “In the beginning it was much easier because we didn’t form relationships or alliances. It was about bringing out the strongest characters.
It was because we had to control the game, we didn’t have a say in them going into the game, it’s like a herd mentality.

Tough: Amanda also told how as the days went by and the group got smaller, it became harder to kill them because by then they had formed such close bonds
“With the herd mentality, everyone was so scared because they wanted to stay in the game that they went and followed everyone else.”
The show sees the contestants become involved before a small number of guys are secretly chosen by Claudia to be the traitors. The rest of the players are known as “The Faithful” and none of The Faithful knows who the traitors are.
Players are then eliminated when the Traitors meet in secret and decide to “kill” one of the Faithful. The next morning, when the group meets for breakfast, the “killed” player does not appear.
The job to be done: “We all wear a mask…we all have bad days.” But you get up, put on your uniform, go to work and play the part.”
Later in the day, all players have to meet at the “Round Table” and “banish” the player they suspect is a traitor.
Then the person of his choice reveals whether he is a traitor or a believer before being eliminated from the show.
At the end of the game, a few remaining players share the prize pool if they are all loyal, but if there is still a traitor among them, the traitor takes all the prize money.

I loved all of them but I knew too much about everyone so I had to stay separate from all of them.
Claudia goes on to admit that she originally turned down the chance to host the reality game show, before changing her mind when she saw the Dutch original.
She said: At first I said no, but then I watched the Dutch version and cried. I loved it so much I said, “Please let me do it.” I was very lucky to do so.
