What Emily’s ending in Paris Season 3 Season 4 might mean

Emily in Paris Season 3 spoilers follow – including its ending.

we will. Lily Collins Wasn’t Kidding When She Said We Were On “The Ultimate Cliffhanger,” With Netflix’s Final Season Emily in Paris Drop a rather massive rant before the end credits roll.

We’re about to get into all the details, so if you don’t want to spoil it for you, we suggest you look away until you’ve finished the series.

We already knew that Emily had been forced to bury her true feelings for the restaurateur
and her neighbor Gabriel, after it was revealed in the Season 2 finale episode that he was going to go over things with his girlfriend Camille who was about to confess her love for him.

Season 3 picked up right where we left off. Emily and her new outburst have been busy channeling all of their energy into her relationship with Londoner Alfie, as well as her work, while still trying to maintain her friendship with Gabriel and his other half.

It didn’t take long for viewers to realize she was conflicted; She and Gabriel were still harboring something. After all, “Will They, Aren’t They” has formed a pretty big part of the show’s story thus far, so why change things up now?

It all came to a dramatic climax in the Season 3 finale (which happened to be Gabriel and Camille’s engagement party that turned out at the last minute).

Camille, who had been hiding an affair from Gabrielle, decided at the last minute not to marry him. She is confronted by Emily, who spots her kissing Sophia on the rooftop of a fancy party earlier in the series, and then Camille notices a tender moment between her fiancé and Emily during their engagement evening.

While saying their vows at Camille’s family’s vineyard chapel in front of their closest friends and family, she decides instead to declare that Gabriel has loved Emily – and that he has since he first met her.

Poor Alfie, who was watching, walked out on Emily, calling time on their relationship because he realized he was a second choice all along.

For a few seconds, it seemed as if the way was finally clear for Emily and Gabriel to act on their feelings. But as they sat together, regrouping from the dramatic events that had just unfolded, Gabriel dropped a sentence that could change everything.

“Emily, there’s something you don’t know,” he tells her. “Camil did not come back from Greece to rekindle our relationship, she just came back to tell me she was pregnant.”

Earlier in the season, Camille met artist Sophia at her gallery and the pair became romantically involved before they went on a Mediterranean cruise together. Gabriel is unaware of the nature of their relationship, but while Camille is away he suspects that she may have been cheating on him with an unknown person when he discovers photos of her party on social media.

When she got home, Emily was all too willing to have to comfort Gabrielle, believing that Camille would be upfront about her affair. Little did Emily — or we, for that matter — know, until this final reveal, that Camille was coming back instead to tell Gabriel that they were expecting.

With that added context, we can begin to view Camille and Gabriel’s behavior in Season 3 through a different lens.

Did Camille, for example, break things off with Sofia because she really wanted to be with Gabriel instead, or because she felt she had to give things away with him (again) for the sake of the baby?

Was Gabriel’s intense ambition for his restaurant, and salary increase, motivated by the knowledge that he would soon have a young relative to support him? What’s more, was his sudden proposal plan born out of his love and commitment to Camille, or just an unusual reaction when he was told he was about to become a father?

The nature of the cliffhanger means we don’t yet have any of these answers, but hopefully those answers are already green-lit. Emily in Paris Season 4 will explore her further.

For shippers Emily and Gabrielle, their future is hardly clear (despite the fact that Season 3 technically leaves them single and clearly still into each other).

After the non-wedding shenanigans, it could be argued that Gabriel’s decision to sign up with Emily rather than fight for Camille could be a pretty big clue to where his heart really is. But the road has never been easy for these two, and that’s clearly not going to change now.

If Emily and Gabriel they were For both of them to decide that they want to follow their undeniable passions, there’s a lot they’ll need to talk about first.

As for Camille, she clearly has some decisions to make. Whether or not she decides to have the baby, she may end up wanting to explore her feelings for Sofia now that she’s finally broken up with Gabriel (and her family’s expectations).

Ashley Park, Emily in Paris Season 3

Aside from the ongoing love triangle, the Season 3 finale leaves plenty for Season 4 to explore.

Mindy, Emily’s BBF and perhaps the best part of the show, has the Eurovision casting call, which aside from being incredibly creative is also something we’d love to see included in the next episode drop.

What’s more, it’s something she’s going to do with her ex, Benoît, so could a revival be on the cards there, too? We’d like to think so, given her new boyfriend Niko’s shady antics.

Either way, we’ll have to wait and find out. But with another season definitely coming up, we hope to be back in Paris soon.
